USMC VETERAN MATTHEW LANG
ANNOUNCES HOUSE OF DELEGATES BID
Reston Resident, Security Consultant Vows to Defeat Entrenched 38-Year Incumbent
January 15, 2021
RESTON, VA – U.S. Marine Corps and Navy Reserve
veteran Matthew Lang announced his grassroots
campaign to defeat 38-year incumbent Kenneth Plum
today. Lang, a Reston resident and security consultant,
vowed to fight for the people of Fairfax County in
Richmond against the tidal wave of California-style
job-killing, tax-raising policies.

“Virginia is at a crossroads. The hardworking men and
women of our Commonwealth have gotten a taste of
the reckless policies that have bankrupted California,
and we must turn back before it’s too late,” Lang
exclaimed. “Time and again, I have put the needs of my
family, my community, and our country ahead of my
own needs. I’m running for House of Delegates to once
again answer this call and bring common sense back
to Richmond. “

Lang’s military and professional experience afford him unique insight into the challenges of securing lasting democracy while strengthening institutions that make communities great.

“As your Delegate, I will fight for the values that make our Commonwealth and our nation great – for an education system that lifts every child up; for policies to equip our law enforcement professionals with the tools to keep our communities safe; and for an economy that works for entrepreneurs and small business owners,” Lang said.

When not traveling to Africa for work, Matthew enjoys Reston's amenities, fishing its lakes, eating at our wide variety of restaurants and getting his laundry folded while still wearing it as a novice practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Matthew lives in South Reston with his wife Patricia and his three children.
